| Description: | We seek an experienced A&P mechanic to lead our inspection department. A successful candidate will apply his/her aviation experience to manage the team responsible for inspection of new machined and fabricated parts for both airframe and powerplant applications. The successful applicant will have commensurate leadership experience and demonstrated abilities.

| Duties: | * Lead and manage the PMA inspection team, and the PMA packaging clerks.
* Ensure that inspectors are adequately trained and compliant with company and regulatory standards.
* Develop procedures and processes to improve quality and efficiency.
* Coordinate with Quality Planners and Supplier Quality Managers to ensure that inspection tooling and inspection plans are adequate.
* Reviews technical supplier certification documents for compliance to purchase order, engineering, and regulatory requirements.
* Performs complex geometric set-ups and uses sensitive inspection tools for inspection and validation of aerospace components.
* Reads and understands detailed manufacturing drawings including GD&T and special processing instructions.
* Use objectivitly and analytical techniques to solve problems and make decisions.
* Interface with the supplier and the customer, as required. |
| Qualifications: | * Certified Airframe and Powerplant mechanic and 5 years minimum experience.
* Must be able to obtain ASQ CQI or similar quality certification within 2 years of employment
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathmatical Skillls: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety if instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Other Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities: A minimum of 5yrs experience in a directly related aerospace inspection background. Experience in teaming enviromentals a plus. Good attention to detail.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
* Works in a combination of office, warehouse, and machine shop environment. Light manufacturing and packaging materials present in warehouse and shop.
* Is occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
* Have clear vision ( correctable to 20/25) at 14 inches and the ability to indentify and distinguish colors in at least one eye.
Education Requirements: High school diploma or GED with five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination or education and experince preferred. |
