| Duties: | Designs commercial aircraft aftermarket parts by reverse engineering.
Uses standard measurement tools such as a micrometer or caliper.
Creates 3D CAD models and dimensional data reports from reverse engineering data.
Creates manufacturing drawings of aftermarket parts from dimensional reports, material analysis, and available technical data.
Recognizes and specifies manufacturing methods and suppliers
Manages several reverse engineering projects simultaneously to meet project completion deadlines.
Creates data packages to be submitted to the FAA for PMA approval.
Familiar with ANSI 14.5 dimension and geometric tolerance standards.
Good drafting and CAD skills: SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Good office software skills: Microsoft Excel, and Word.

| Qualifications: | Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Education Requirements: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering with three years applicable design experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
