Wencor is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work on commercial aircraft aftermarket parts by reverse engineering projects to obtain Parts Manufacturing Approvals (PMA) from the FAA.

In addition, this position will backup ODA Engineering Deputy responsibilities for managing technical support to the Wencor Inc. PMA-ODA unit. The technical support is similar to that delegated by the FAA in 14 CFR Part 183.29 �Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs)� and further defined in FAA Order 8100.8.
Duties:Engineering responsibilities include:

� Designs commercial aircraft aftermarket parts by reverse engineering.
� Manage several reverse engineering projects simultaneously to meet project completion deadlines
� Create 3D CAD models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, dimensional data reports, and manufacturing drawings of aftermarket parts.
� Create data packages to be submitted to the FAA for PMA approval.

ODA Deputy responsibilities include:
coordination and managing a group of ODA Engineering Unit Members performing the following technical support:

� Development of or approval of certification plans and compliance checklists.
� Assist and support PMA project management at Wencor Engineering and Wencor PMA-ODA Unit.
� Investigate, review and approve repair or alteration data, service problems related to PMA products, specific research & development technical support upon request.
Qualifications:� Education Requirements: Bachelor�s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing
� Engineering with three years applicable design experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
� Must have a working knowledge of the FAA regulations, orders and policies, especially Orders 8100.8, 8100.15, 8110.37, 8110.42, 8120.2, and 8130.21 and related advisory circulars.
� Must have significant experience in coordination with the FAA ACO and other FAA technical groups.
